Hiding in Nature

Forest exhibition at Frederiksdal Castle unites art and nature

From 16th August to 14th September 2025, I was exhibiting a series of nature-inspired artworks in the forest surrounding Frederiksdal Castle in Virum.

At first glance, my original paintings appear to be wild, abstract explosions of color. But if you look more closely, there’s more to discover within. A bee. A butterfly. Or a beech leaf weevil.

What all the artworks have in common is that they are inspired by the unique nature surrounding Lake Furesø and the Mølleå stream, close to my studio in Virum.

Now, the artworks where moving out of the studio and back into their natural element—in the forest at Frederiksdal Castle, where they could be experienced in harmony with nature.

10 works, printed on nearly 2x2 meter large metal plates, where hung among the forest’s beech trees from August 16 to September 14 2025. In addition, visitors could enjoy fun nature games along the walk between the artworks.

With the exhibition "Hiding in Nature", I hope to inspire visitors to explore nature themselves and discover what is hidden in plain sight.

The exhibition is created in collaboration with Frederiksdal Chamber Folk Festival and supported by the Cultural Fund of Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality.
